The brotherhood session is a means for the young men within the program to learn about information surrounding college life and it challenges. The young men are subjected to various workshops such as topics on:
- Senior Year and Advanced Placement Classes

Community Service
All Alpha Mentoring Program participants are required to complete 15 hours of community service on their own during the Alpha Mentoring Program. All participants are also required to participate in an all day community service activity as a group. This program is important in teaching the young men the importance of working within their community and giving back in some form. We encourage the participants to continue to provide community service after the Alpha Mentoring program is completed.
Fundraising Opportunities
All Alpha Mentoring Program participants are required to take part in various fundraising opportunities to increase the amount of scholarship awarded, offset costs for traveling to workshops and college fairs, as well as selling patronage ads in the Alpha Mentoring Program souvenir book.
Recreational Outings
During the 6-month period that the young men are in the Alpha Mentoring Program, they participate in several recreational activities. The activities include:
- Bowling Party
- Rock Climbing
- Retreats
These activities help to reinforce the objectives that are outlined in the Life Skills "Brotherhood Sessions".
